Joxasa (yok-sa) is an imprint for the Atlanta based custom leather accessory designs of John Sanders. Joxasa specializes in personalized one off leather pieces such as cuffs, belts, wallets, messenger bags, women’s handbags, duffel bags and leather binders. The Joxasa line is fresh, different and modern with a fashion sense that spans from bohemian hipster to elegant luxury.
As a designer John Sanders sees his message and work is portrayed in the colors, patterns, and textures of the handmade accessories he creates. To him accessories have everything to do with conveying an image. “It’s about creating a reason as to why fashion is desirable.”
Sanders explains, “Everything came together about seven years ago. When I lived in Grand Rapids Michigan and saw this artic fox bomber cap in Vogue Magazine. I wanted it so bad that I decided to make it.” Sanders went to St. Vincent de Paul and bought an artic fox coat cut it up and constructed the bomber cap, “ I wore it to work the next day and this guy was like, ‘I’ll give you $300 for that.’ So I sold it and decided to look more into fashion and design.”

As self-taught stylist Sanders has an innate understanding of both the enduring and temporary aspects of fashion design. John’s ability to couple classic elements with trendy designs and exciting creativity allow him to give his customers a distinctive one of a kind fashion: “the Joxasa look”.
The distinct “one of a kind” handmade craftsmanship of the Joxasa line is immediately recognizable in all of its diverse accessories and designs. Through the creative use of textiles and animal hides John allows the customer to express themselves in their own individual manner. What makes Joxasa fashion so desirable is its uniqueness in a world of mass production.
If there is one thing John treasures it is his romance with using fashion and design as a vehicle to creating a richer more vibrant quality of life for those around him. “I taught myself how to put pieces together out of a want”, he says. “Designing for me is a little unconventional, I’m inspired by the creation process of it all, and I love having an idea and seeing that idea come to life in something I create.”
